Genus information

Taeniothrips Amyot & Serville, 1843: 644. [erected for four Haliday species: primulae, decora, dispar and brevicornis] Type species Thrips primulae Haliday (a junior synonym of Thrips picipes Zetterstedt), by subsequent designation of Karny, 1907: 45.

Taeniothrips (Fetothrips) Bhatti, 1995: 92. Type species Taeniothrips tigris Bhatti, 1995, by monotypy.

Javathrips Bhatti, 1978: 176. Type species Taeniothrips lagoenifer Priesner 1938, by original designation. Synonymised by Mirab-Balou et al., 2015.

Biology and Distribution

Holarctic genus, in flowers and young leaves.
