Bolothrips Priesner, 1926: 90. Type species Phloeothrips bicolor Heeger, by original designation.

Bolothrips (Botanothrips) Hood, 1939: 605. Type species Bolothrips pratensis Hood, by original designation. Synonym by Mound, 1974.

Boloadelothrips Moulton, 1949: 489. Type species Boloadelothrips africanus Moulton, by monotypy. Synonymised by Mound & Palmer, 1983: 35.

Biology and Distribution

At least 17 species, widespread around the world, often at the bases of grasses and sedges.
