Octothrips Moulton, 1940: 243. Type species Octothrips suspensus Moulton, 1940, by monotypy.

Apollothrips Wilson, 1972: 49. Type species Apollothrips bhattii Wilson, 1972, by monotypy; synonymised by Bhatti, 2003.

Tropical Asia, associated with ferns.
