Genus information
Chiraplothrips Priesner, 1931: 271. Type species Haplothrips (Chiraplothrips) faureanus Priesner 1931, by monotypy.
Biology and Distribution
Genus includes species described from Africa but also recorded from Mediterranean region and India; these are Palaeotropical species similar to Haplothrips that live on Poaceae.
